"I grew up in the noise of police sirens blaring throughout the night, scenes of drug dealers being arrested; I grew up witnessing theft, as if it were a normal activity. Young adults like myself dropping out of high school and young girls becoming pregnant. I believe educating and nourishing children from a young age is a form of prevention for violence and malice. I aspire to become more involved in community meetings to discuss the needs for more training for teachers in order to fulfill the intellectual needs of students in my neighborhood. The funding for APCH programs is very necessary, because the programs will enrich the minds of young men and women like myself and further prepare them for success. Education is the stepping stone to success and prevention of violence." - APCH Member since 2014 Every day at A Place Called Home, hundreds of youth between the ages of 8 and 21 find a safe, supportive environment where they receive services and advance on pathways to attain higher education and economic independence through college and vocational opportunities. Support our college-bound teens and help us reach our goal of $30,000 to equip them with summer intensive programming, life skills, laptops and essential supplies to succeed in college. We can't do it without you! #APCHGoesToCollege Donate here: https://secure.qgiv.com/event/apchgoestocollege/

Our members were invited to create designs for Sunlite Industrial Corp's new line of kids' swimming goggles, to be sold online and at retail stores throughout the country. They got to spend the day trying all of their game and toy products, drawing designs, and were gifted with a basket full of the company's toys! Members whose designs are chosen will receive prizes and be able to see their designs available in stores! #Thankyou #SunliteIndustrialCorp #futureentrepreneurs #APCH
