A Place Called Home (APCH) has been a cornerstone of hope and empowerment in South Central Los Angeles since 1993. Founded in the wake of the LA Civil Unrest, this dynamic youth and community center has evolved over three decades to address the pressing needs of young people in one of the city’s most underserved areas. APCH’s mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where youth can thrive, regardless of their zip code.

Since its inception, APCH has expanded its reach and impact, offering comprehensive programs in arts, education, and wellness to children and young adults in elementary school to mid-20s. The organization’s holistic approach includes academic support, youth mentorship, job readiness training, mental health counseling, and college scholarships. Through these initiatives, APCH has consistently worked to break the cycle of poverty and empower youth to build brighter futures for themselves and their community.

Over the years, A Place Called Home has touched the lives of thousands of South Los Angeles youth, helping to increase graduation rates, reduce the likelihood of involvement in the juvenile justice system, and foster hopeful futures. A Place Called Home continues to adapt and grow, remaining committed to our core values of Respect, Empathy, Accountability, Courage, and Hope (R.E.A.C.H.) while addressing the evolving challenges faced by young people in South Central Los Angeles.
