APCH Teen Voter Registration Workshop
Thursday, April 11, 2019
CRCD (Coalition for Responsible Community Development) joined APCH to put together an all-teen Voter Education Event. We had 73 members attend and participate in the voter education workshop and mock voting process.
Thank you to Luis Bautista, and his group of youth organizers from CRCD for helping make this event super engaging and interactive. Members learned the history of voting and why it’s important to engage in political participation.
It was so wonderful to feel and see the energy in the room. The presentation was followed by a mock voting process. The teens voted on propositions that were developed by our Teen Leadership.
Community Clean up
April 27, 2019
On the morning of April 27th, APCH’s community clean up was a success, thanks to the commitment of so many passionate members of our community. We had 103 participants, including APCH members, families and staff; APCH Executive Director Jonathan Zeichner and staff from various departments (TYAS, NUA, Development, and Counseling); Disney VOCES volunteers; APCH volunteers; Girl Scouts; and community members arm themselves with brooms and shovels to clean up our neighborhood streets. Councilman Curren D. Price, Jr. and Field Deputy Genevieve Arce supported the event and donated reusable water bottles to the community. We also had the support from our local LAPD, Newton Division; special thanks to Officers Blake and Miller for supporting the event. Thank you to all who made this day possible. View more photos of the event here.
