This event is FREE to the community! Throughout the day we’ll be giving away free comics and books, and there will be exciting presentations featuring creators from the entertainment industry, art workshops hosted by local artists, raffle prizes, and an exhibitor area where the public can buy books, comics, and other merchandise from local creators.

Join teaching artists from Able Arts WORK as they showcase creative zine-making techniques, allowing you to craft your very own zine!

Artist Donovan Vim Crony, alongside two community members from LA Commons, will discuss the creation and significance of the Building Healthy Communities South LA comic book project.

Empowering Concert and Book Reading with Artist and Songwriter Heidi Rojas
Heidi Rojas will be singing her viral anthems “Madre Creator” and “The Feelings Song” and reading from her new bilingual children’s book I Am Enough/Soy Fuerte Ya.

Master Prop Builder Mike Senna- Photo Opportunity

Senna is a skilled prop maker at Lucasfilm/ Disney and currently works as the Droid Department Head for the television production Skeleton Crew. Sennaʼs R2-D2 has represented Lucasfilm since 2005, in TV shows, commercials, and at events such as the 2007 and 2016 Rose Parades, D23 Expo, and the 2016 Oscars. Come take photos and say hello to Mike and his droids!

Live Action Screen Printing! w/ Jackie Hernandez aka “Las Chicas Peligrosas”

Come get your goodie bags printed LIVE and in-person with Jackie Hernandez, creator of Las Chicas Peligrosas. Jackie Hernandez is a multi-medium artist born and raised in Los Angeles, California. They work with a variety of mediums such as painting, printmaking, animation, digital illustration and murals.
