Mr. Friday’s Volunteer Story
I want everyone around me in this community to succeed, to get the tools they need, and to have hope, because there are a lot of things around us that can stop us from being optimistic.

Everyone on the planet is born creative. Deep in our souls, there’s a desire to make something amazing and beautiful that tells the story of who we are and why we’re unique.

“Peace,” “joy,” “brotherhood,” and “love” are ideas APCH takes to heart every day, and this time of year we get super busy lifting them up as high as we can. Over the past month we have served 1,000 Thanksgiving dinners, facilitated the “Holiday Adoption” of 202 families, and distributed close to 10,000 toys, books, and articles of clothing to kids in the neighborhood. On December 15, Santa Claus visited APCH and brought snow and hot cocoa and good cheer for nearly 3,000 of our community members.
We’re just days away from our biggest community event of the year!
Are you ready for a big turkey or Tofurkey dinner next Thursday? We know we are. Oh, and don’t forget the gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie! These are all essentials, at least on our Thanksgiving table.
At A Place Called Home our members get help to get ahead, create great lives, and become people who make a positive difference in the world.

Eager APCH members have flocked to our Social Enterprise & Entrepreneurship Program, SEE, where they are running their own company called Changemaker$. There, elementary, middle, and high school-aged members are learning how to start their own businesses and fuel their entrepreneurial spirits.
