Cinderella & Prince Charming Project 2019
A Place Called Home held its 17th annual Cinderella & Prince Charming Project on April 5th. More than 500 teens attended and received formal attire for their upcoming proms and graduations. Hundreds more who couldn’t attend will also receive dresses and suits in the coming weeks for their senior year milestones!
With the help of 280 volunteers, teens from 52 high schools throughout Los Angeles received “the royal treatment” on campus. First, teens participated in free life skills workshops. Next, teens “shopped” in our boutiques for FREE formal wear. Volunteers from The American Sewing Guild and Stitches Technology were busy cutting, sewing, and hemming away at gowns and suits to get just the right fit. Stylists offered fashion tips to help perfect the teens’ top picks. Young ladies received up to two free gowns, shoes, accessories, and makeup, while the young men picked out suits, shoes, and accessories, and received free hair cuts from LA Barber College. Thanks to our generous sponsors from Disney, Friar Tux, Bank of America, LA Galaxy, Bombas, Los Angeles Lakers, The American Sewing Guild and Stitches Technology, we helped hundreds of high school seniors prepare to look and feel their best for their upcoming senior year milestones!
We hope to see you here at next year’s event. You don’t have to wait until then, you are always welcome to get involved at any time. Click on the link to learn how you can volunteer.
